One Nation, One Dream, Paid For in Full

12SEP2026: Look up. That flag snapping in the wind over your town: the red, the white, the blue of it, and it didn't raise itself this morning. Those thirteen stripes weren't stitched by accident, and those fifty stars didn't fall out of the sky. Every thread of Old Glory was earned. Bought. Defended. Carried forward by American hands that refused to let it fall. And that same flag is the reason you get to dream at all.

We call it the American Dream. They say it like it's the weather, like it just happens, like it's always been here, like it always will be. But freedom is not the natural state of mankind. America is the great exception. And do you know why that Dream is even an option? Because an American raised their right hand and swore to defend it with their life.

The Land of the Free, Because of the Brave! Say those words slowly. The land of the free, because of the brave! That's not a bumper sticker. That's the whole American story in six words. Freedom is not free. It never has been. From the frozen hell of Valley Forge, where barefoot patriots bled into the snow so a new nation could be born to the beaches of Normandy, where American boys ran headlong into the guns so the world could throw off the chains of tyranny, to every dusty outpost and lonely mountaintop where our sons and daughters stand watch tonight — the price of American liberty has always been paid in American courage.

We didn't march for medals. We marched for you. For the farmer in his field. For the mother at her kitchen table. For the immigrant taking the oath with tears in his eyes. For the kid in the classroom saying the Pledge with his hand over his heart. For every single soul who ever got to wake up in this country and say the most powerful words a human being can say: Today, I get to choose my own future. That's the American Way. And it was built, brick by brick, on the backs of the bravest people this nation has ever produced: The American Veteran.

The Freest Choice in the Freest Country

Here's the miracle. Here's the thing that ought to bring you to your feet...

Nobody made them do it.

In a nation founded on liberty, the veteran did the most extraordinary thing a free person can do, they chose to lay their freedom down so that yours would be safe. No one commanded it. No draft dragged most of them there. They looked at the good life every American is entitled to want: the paycheck, the porch, the peace and quiet, and they said: Not yet. Not until the mission is done. Not until my country is safe. Not until the people back home are free to chase every dream this great nation promises.

We gave up the birthdays. We gave up the anniversaries. We gave up the first steps and the last goodbyes. Some of them gave up everything, and they gave it gladly, because they believed: the way I believe, without one drop of doubt or dilution — that America is worth it.

You cannot chase a future you are not free to have. And you are free because they made you free. Every dream you dream in this country was cleared for takeoff by a veteran who stood a post so you never had to.

We Will Not Forget. Not Ever. We connect our veterans to the benefits they earned, the resources they were promised, the community they deserve, and the second chances they paid for in advance, in sweat, in blood, in years of their one and only life. As a debt of honor. A debt every grateful American owes and can never fully repay.

An Undiluted, Unapologetic, All-American Belief - believe in the American Dream... I believe in the real one — the fierce, roaring, star-spangled, God-given, unstoppable Dream that has lifted more human beings out of darkness than any idea in the history of the world.

Touch the whole mountain!

And I believe in it because of the veteran. Because the Dream is not luck. It is a fire, and someone has to keep it burning. It is a wall, and someone has to keep it standing. It is a watch through the long night, and in America — thank God — someone has always answered the call.

So, stand up. Look at that flag again. And remember the truth, plain as the stars and bright as the dawn: You get to be an American, free to dream, because an American that you'll never meet decided you were worth defending. The least we can do — the very least — is make sure that when they come home, the Dream they saved is waiting for them, too.

That's the American Way. That's the promise.
