Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E)

Formerly known as Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VocRehab), this VA program — also called Chapter 31 — helps veterans with service-connected disabilities prepare for, find, and keep meaningful work. Services include job training, resume development, employment accommodations, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and post-secondary education. Veterans who cannot work may also qualify for independent living services. Generally requires a 20% or greater service-connected disability rating, though exceptions exist for those with a serious employment handicap. Apply online using VA Form 28-1900 at VA.gov.
