What makes the organization unique?
The mission of Heroes Below is to provide an innovative stress reduction and relaxation program to Active Military, Veterans, First Responders, their spouses and caregivers living with PTSD and TBI. Heroes Below provides a transformative, powerful and unique underwater experience using SCUBA equipment in a heated indoor pool. The Heroes Below program is a stress reduction and relaxation program and not SCUBA certification in the Austin, Texas area.
Who can sign up to participate:
All Active Military, Military Veteran, Active Law Enforcement, Law Enforcement Veteran, Active or Retired First Responders their spouses and caregivers; able-bodied and disabled.
How Much Does It Cost?:
No Cost. SCUBA Instructor time, indoor pool use, and SCUBA gear are all donated for free to those who put themselves in harms way to protect our us and country.
What kind of activities are offered?
Stress reduction and relaxation through the use of SCUBA gear in an indoor heated pool.
How Long Do The Activities Last?:
Heroes Below is provided the indoor pool facility 2 Saturday evenings per month from October to the end of May each year.
No Calendar of events is provided. Participants receive an email on the 3rd Monday prior to the start of a new calendar quarter that lists the available pool dates. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
