What makes the organization unique?
American Warrior Outdoors (AWO) is a 100% veteran-owned and operated 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by U.S. Army disabled veteran Paul Hewitt Jr. and headquartered in New Jersey. Since receiving nonprofit status in 2024, AWO has brought hundreds of veterans and active-duty service members into the outdoors — building bonds, sharing stories, and creating lifelong memories through fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and more. AWO was built by veterans, for veterans.
