What makes this organization unique?

They exist to give veterans and active military a second chance at life by honoring and empowering those with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Military Sexual Trauma through the experience of training and caring for their own service dog.

Who can sign up to get a service dog?

Active Duty and Veterans with service connected PTSD, TBI, or MST. If no longer active, must possess a honorable discharge and pass a background check.

How much does it cost for the vet to get a dog?

No cost to the veteran.

What kind of service dogs are offered?

They’re bringing a measure of peace and functionality to veterans who are facing a war all over again as they cope with anxieties born of service-related post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and/or military sexual trauma (MST).

How long does it take to get the new service dog?

There are no long waiting lists or periods to sweat out. You will have to wait to start class while we find the right dog for you but you will be involved in that process. Once you’ve been matched with a K9, you will be scheduled to start the next available Basic Level Class. We get you started on a positive path forward right away!

Where does the organization get the aminals to train?

Over 80% of our K9s are rescues. If there is already a dog in the home that may be used as a service dog, our dog acquisition team will temperament test and evaluate the dog to see if he/she can be accepted into the program.
