What makes No Barriers USA unique?

We not only take veterans on amazing outdoor expeditions, we give them the tools and skills needed to live a life of purpose. Participants complete a 3-phase process that spans before, during, and after their expedition. Teachings focus on the No Barriers Life—seven elements that provide a framework to help you be your best self. We ask our participants to go through a three phase process with us for their expedition. Phase one focuses on trip prep and defining your purpose, whereas phase two is the expedition itself. The real magic happens in phase three, when we focus on meaningful engagement post-expedition. During this phase, participants create and share pledges with one another, building a support-network to help them actualize their goals and hold each other accountable.

Who can sign up to participate?

All veterans with disabilities are welcome. These disabilities do not have to be service related.

What type of activities?

Our expeditions are epic! backcountry outdoor experiences, including rock climbing, hiking, mountain climbing (and summiting!), backpacking, rafting, ice climbing, etc.

How much does it cost?

Free. Thanks to amazing sponsors, veterans with disabilities can participate in these programs for free.

How long does activity last?

Our expeditions range from 5 to 10 days.

What if I need help getting there? Travel and lodging? To participate in an expedition, a veteran must be self-sufficient. If you're not self-sufficient, you're welcome to join us at our annual Summit, a yearly gathering where all veterans and caregivers are welcome.
