What makes Heroic Food unique?
Heroic Food is unique because we bring together two different American communities, and in doing so we foster solutions that nurture us all. Veterans want to do work that matters; they are not paper pushers by nature or by trade. Farming provides an opportunity for a healthier transition back to civilian life than some other methods of coping with trauma. Simultaneously, farmers need someone to pass their farms onto. America is running out of farmers. By bringing the two together, America wins.
Who can sign up to participate?
Any U.S. veteran, regardless of discharge status, can participate.
What type of activities?
We host creative workshops that inspire veterans to think outside the box about their ability to be entrepreneurs in the agricultural industry.
How Much Does It Cost?
These workshops are free to the veteran, thanks to the monetary contributions of the amazing civilians and veterans who support our mission.

How long does the activity last?
Most of our workshops are one day workshops. Our signature, annual farming boot camp is a three day workshop, called Farm Squad.

What if I need help getting there? Travel and lodging?
Heroic Food picks up the tab for transportation, meals, and lodging for the duration of the event.
